Objectives

The Objectives of the Council, as stated in the Bylaws, are:

1. To monitor zoning laws in the Verde Valley and to promote appropriate new zoning laws as they relate to the rights of the horse owner.

2. To strive to improve legal statutes preserving the use of and rights of way for horses and horse drawn vehicles.

3. To encourage the development of equestrian trails throughout the Verde Valley so as to give permanent access to and through populated and non-populated areas.

4. To promote, sponsor, and encourage horse related activities.

5. To encourage communication between horsemen and non-horsemen, horsemen and community governments, and horsemen and the general population.

6. To purchase, lease or otherwise acquire and to hold, use, operate and sell or otherwise dispose of real and personal property, and to use such real or personal property or such facilities as may be necessary or required for the use of its members.

7. To do all and everything necessary, suitable or proper for the accomplishment of any of the purposes or attainment of any of the heretofore mentioned objectives, either alone or in association with other organizations, firms, individuals or governmental agencies and in general, to engage in any lawful business or activity that may be necessary or convenient to carry out the objectives of the Council.

IN ADDITION, members of the VERDE VALLEY HORSEMEN’S COUNCIL use their horses in a variety of ways, and always HAVE FUN ON HORSEBACK! Trail riding, horse shows, play days, are great family activities and everyone, including the horses, benefit.
